Wedding Trends for 2018

A new year is on the horizon and with it is sure to come a new wave of wedding trends to inspire brides across the country. From new ideas on flower colours to different types of venue, we’ve come up with a list of what we expect to be hot, with our wedding trends for 2018.

  1. Mixing funky florals with eclectic glassware

Move over soft pink, 2018 is going to be a year of dark, moody flowers paired with eclectic, vintage cut glassware for an edgy feel. Meanwhile, the widely loved flower crown is making way for a new kid on the block – the flower tiara. Although these are much smaller than the traditional headpiece, they still create a statement look that adds a natural vibe to your wedding attire.

  1. Industrial style wedding venues

More and more brides are ditching grand wedding venues in favour for industrial, minimalistic ones that act as a blank canvas. Think converted mills, Edison bulbs, exposed brickwork and an abundance of copper, geometric shapes and handmade goodies.

  1. Nearly naked cakes

Naked cakes have been extremely popular, but after realising that they can dry out quickly, brides have turned their attention to nearly naked cakes. While these appear similar to the original naked cake, they have a thin scraping of buttercream on the outside to keep them moist for longer.

  1. Mobile bars

From converted camper vans to converted fire engines and refurbished horse boxes, mobile bar settings are becoming ever more quirky. Combine that with the recent trends for prosecco, gin and craft ale and you’re sure to set the scene for an amazing party!

  1. Relaxed wedding dresses

Depending on your style, shape and desires, an experienced wedding dress shop will help you pick your dream dress – whether that’s an A-line gown or a jewel studded ballgown. But one of the types of wedding dress that’s sure to explode in popularity throughout 2018 will be the relaxed wedding dress. This style of semi-formal, non-fussy dress is perfect for the laid back bride that doesn’t want too much fuss. Here are a few of our favourites:
